FAQs
- What should I wear?
Formal attire. Floor or midi-length dresses or jumpsuits for women and suit and tie for men. The ceremony site is accessible via a gravel walkway so thick heels or flats are best!
- What will the weather be like?
Fall in the Shenandoah Valley sees highs of 70F during the day and can dip to 40F at night. The pavilion is not climate controlled. Make sure to bring a shawl or jacket if you tend to run cold.
- How accessible are the ceremony and reception site?
The walkways to the ceremony site and between the ceremony and reception sites are crushed gravel. There is a slight incline up to the reception site following the ceremony. If requested, golf cart transportation is available between the sites.
- What time should I arrive?
Please arrive at the ceremony site no later than 3:45pm.
- When do I need to RSVP?
RSVP deadline TBD. Stay tuned!
- Where should I stay?
We encourage anyone staying all weekend to book onsite with Shenandoah Woods. Use the “Lodging” tab above to get an idea of what accommodations are available. Please note that Shenandoah Woods and many of the other cabins onsite require a minimum two-night stay.
If you prefer a one-night stay we have arranged a room block at Hotel Laurance in Luray. This room block is only available through December 31, 2026; book sooner rather than later. Reservations in the room block can be cancelled at no charge up to 14 days prior to the reservation date, in the event your plans change.
The Mimslyn Inn is another option in downtown Luray. We do not have a room block for this hotel, but if you do book it you will be able to catch the shuttle with guests staying at Hotel Laurance.
- Is parking available?
Yes, there is parking next to the ceremony site. We will have a shuttle running pre- and post-ceremony for onsite guests.
- I’m not staying onsite - is transportation available?
Yes - we have booked a shuttle for guests staying in Luray. The shuttle will depart from Hotel Laurance at 3:30pm and return following the end of the reception.
Please note that the venue is in a rural location and there are no rideshares available (seriously). If the shuttle schedule does not work with your plans, you will have to drive or arrange other transportation in advance.
- Can I bring a plus one?
